On a San Francisco shopping trip today, I stopped into the CocoaBella in Westfield Center, and purchased the following bars for future review:
* Bonnat Chuao (75% Venezualan)
* Bonnat Java (65% milk chocolate!)
* Bonnat Madagascar (75%)
* Maglio Africa (75% single origin)
* Maglio “Extra Bitter” (72+% cark)
Bonnat is now semi-famous as the chocolate that the Noka “chocolatiers” resell remelted as “the world’s most expensive chocolate.” For details on this questionable practice, see the DallasFood article.
I had not seen Maglio before, but it gets impressive reviews in the few places it is mentioned on the web. Tasting notes posted soon.
