Been sicker than a dog that ate chocolate, but thought I’d mention a few mainstream articles mentioning higher end chocolate.

Yoga Journal has an article on “Conscious Chocolate”, focusing mainly on the fair trade stuff. They mention Green & Blacks, Theo, and a bunch of Blommer looking stuff. It’s odd that some stuff that I’m willing to bet is Blommer is labelled as made in Belgium. Wonder if there is a big OEM manufacturer there. Nice to see the startup guys at Theo getting mentioned.

NYTimes has a few articles mentioning the higher end brands, seemingly brought on by the opening of the Israeli import “Max Brenner: Chocolate by the Bald Man.” He’s gotten pretty negative reviews for going too Willy Wonka. New Yorkers clearly want a little dignity with their high end stuff. Can’t dig up the latest NYT article, but here’s one from 2006 that talks about the “sommelier” at Michel Cluizel’s store in NY.
